Senko no Ronde Wiki Strategy Page
I haven’t been able to contact the author of this page, but I’m hoping he’ll continue with this interesting Wartech strategy page. Any thoughts on the page?
3 commentsCalling all Rounders! Post Your Gamertags
It’s about time we collected some gamertags here so rounders can meet on the field of battle. Just post them on this page and I’ll make a permanent page once we get some listed.
My gamertag is Camisuke
5 commentsRounders Wartech Strategy Guide available for download!
The Wartech: Senko no Ronde beginner strategy guide is now available on the Omnivangelist strategy guide page located here.
The goal is once enough information is collected on the characters from players who main with each of them, an intermediate guide can be assembled, also include the score attack strategy page. All I need now is for more players to post special tactics on the characters, currently Mika is up at bat. Thanks to all you Rounders who have contributed!
No commentsSoliciting Mika(A) and Mika(B) Info
I’d like to gather some data on Mika setups (both A and B). For B the missile options will be much more, but I’d like opinions on:
1. When to use the dash shot, and when not to use it. I’ve had mixed results with the dash shot. Particularly, which direction to you dash when you dash shot to get the best effect (most damage)?
2. Missile setups such as missile, then barrier+main to the side the opponent dashes.
What are some of your favourite setups? I’m mostly curious for Mika(B) but I’d also like to know how Mika(A) players handle their missiles as well.
3. What are your favourite Mika patterns?
- I’ve had difficulty making good use of the 360+barrage patterns with Mika B (A’s patterns seems more aggressive).
This is perhaps the most important topic for me. I cannot create as much clutter as I’d like. I tend to barrier+main in between dash shots, 360s (Full Range attack) shots, and Diffusion shots. What are the more optimal combos you’ve found?
4. Mika versus B.O.S.S. modes. Is the best strategy to use barrage for defense (other than dash) and barrier + main for primary damage? I tend not to use barrage attacks or specials with Mika against bosses, do you share this approach?
5. Any strategies for using the dash barrage attack?
I plan to compile all the Mika strategies posted here into an Intermediate Mika guide.
6 commentsRounder vs. Rounder - Myrmidon - Mika + Lili
Had some colourful rounds with Myrmidon today. Both he and I were rusty so it was good to warm up a bit as I’ve been hoping to get back into wartech more now that my friends list is getting healthy with wartech buddies (thank you all).
Myrmidon decided to graciously go with random character select for the first set of matches, while later selecting some rounders more specifically (karel, fabian, lili, and mika).
In the early matches I was relying to heavily on the barrier as Mika wasn’t showing me love on my charge gauge. When I’m rusty at wartech, it usually shows in my dash, which becomes less frequent. I opted for Mika B for the majority of the random rounds. I’m interested in a few things that myrmidon did. First, in the battle of Mika B v. Cuilan (if I remember correctly - i didn’t take many notes), Myr chased me right from the get-go and once the match started hit me with a quick melee attack before dodging away. Embarrassing and I never want it to happen again (heh). So I’d like to discuss how best to avoid that attack (dodge away, sub?).
Myr seems to have the melee figured out as a few times when we closed the gap, he could manage to get a strike in on me. Many times for me, melee occurs accidentally - the opponent gets in your range, and instead of firing the main you end up swinging and whiffing at your opponent, who then gets a nice free counter on you. Perhaps some characters are pretty poor at melee. I notice karel’s long rifle seems to give him a decent melee range, while Mika seems to have a harder time of it. Read more

I’ve added a new page on Score Attack Mode strategy. I’d like to thank Myrmidon for the links and commentary that led to nearly the entire page. Any corrections or comments on that page can be posted below.
No commentsRounder v. Rounder - Laterthanyou - Sakurako (B)
Held some introductory rounds with laterthanyou, a newer gamer similar to myself who just found this site. Wow it’s easy to get rusty at this game. Just a couple weeks of working on other games for omnivangelist.net material really fogged my brain. Laterthanyou demonstrated rapid learning and clever insight into the mechanics of our matches. He mentioned previous experience with Virtual On and like me he also had a background in Street Fighter 2. With all that in common, the matches went pretty smoothly with little details of note. Laterthanyou was experimenting with several of the characters and spent a bit of time on Sakurako(B). I hadn’t really given her much time previously but his style of play made her seem fun, which wasn’t my sense when I played her. A comment he had made that was interesting was in the relation to Sakurako’s type of play with that of Tachibana Ukyo of Samurai Shodown 2. Perhaps it was just a passing notion, but I thought it interesting. Sakurako’s regulator movement is relatively slow, like Ukyo, but her dash is very fast, just like Ukyo’s dash attacks. Ukyo was also played by some as a defensive character similar to Sakurako’s turtling her behind mines. Read more
3 commentsRounder v. Rounder - Ragard - Mika (B) v. Mika (B)
Got a decent 4-5 games in with Ragard today (Ragard is gamertag: happy accid3nt). You can see Ragard’s comment on our first set of matchups in our first Mika (B) v. Mika (B) entry. I’ll admit it right now that Ragard quickly became my favourite opponent to play. He presents a good challenge (I have never beaten him out of 3 yet) but not to the point of hopelessness. Perhaps he’s being kind, but the level of challenge is just what I’m looking for and secondly I don’t feel guilty about using Mika (B) over and over in every fight. I figure that Myrmidon is probably getting jaded with Mika battles as several of his friends seem to also pilot Mika (B). So with Ragard, there remains no guilt of selfishly piloting Mika (B). He does the same and that’s just as well with me. Read more
5 commentsRounder v. Rounder - mpmp - Lili (A) v. Mika (B)
Had some games with a Japanese player named mpmp today. He used Lili (A) exclusively and it was quite exciting to play a decent Lili player. Lili can be a monster to close the gap with. mpmp was rounder level 1, while I was a novice level 2. By the end of our matchups, mpmp had descended to Novice level 10. It’s rather a shame that you can lose rounder status - quite surprising.
Mpmp rarely used Lili’s B.O.S.S. Only a few times in half a dozen matchups did Madame Butterfly rear her ugly head. Early in the battle I would usually posture Mika at medium distance and then start with the regular slew of guard shot, dash shot and homing missiles. This proved very difficult as Lili has some serious nullifying power. Lili would typically rely on charge level 4 shots, and the twin lasers as keep-away while keeping the gap open. This seemed advantageous for Lili and I felt the momentum was always in her favour. I’ve learned recently how I like to measure momentum.
When my eyes are on my rounder I don’t own the momentum. When my eyes are on the opponent’s rounder and my rate of attack is higher than theirs, I likely have the momentum. There are exceptions, but it’s easy to know when you don’t have the momentum in a battle. Read more

Karel Werfel
Age: 25
Sex: Male
Birthday: 1459 08/27
Blood Type: A
Affiliation: Unknown
Fighter: Azureus (Tsunami)
Cartridge A: Gou-Riki
Cartridge B: Yawara
Weight Class: Heavy
Rounder Type: Long Range
B.O.S.S. Mode: Tenka Daiittou
Charge Gauge: 5
In charge of the education of Luchino Narukami, the heir to the powerful Narukami family, which controls the Aria Federation. Karel has disappeared and taken Luchino with him.
A former Aria Federal Army Special Forces member, he used to be in the same squad as Sakurako. His code name at the time was “Brave”.
Basic Strategy for Karel: Karel is typically played long distance much like a sniper would fight. His main shot is very powerful but not rapid. His sub-shot enhances his primary weapon so the game is all about scoring shots like a hunter going for big game. He has strong defense and has a powerful B.O.S.S. form. No wonder he is a heavily played character. Karel’s B cartridge is faster and has stronger melee attacks at the expense of a weaker ranged main attack. He is supposedly a slower character although dash canceling can make it appear he is much faster. He is also considered one of the easier characters to become proficient in, explaining his heavy use among newer players. Read more
